Yep. Bleeding when you get an IUD is normal. So is cramping.

I hope they explained all this to you and you knew the risks when you got this placed Smile

It depends on what IUD you have. The Mirena? You may bleed for a few months but after that, some women stop having their periods. - I don't trust that would happen to me though. I would never be so lucky!

The cramping should ease up within the next few days. You know, Zanny just had a Mirena fitted a few months ago. She would be a good person to answer these questions.

She said she wants to. But that was the only person I knew on these boards who has a coil. She would know more than I know what to expect. Smile

Beckster has a Mirena and she really likes hers. It really goes to show you how birth control can have such opposite effects on people! Shocked

I hope things get better for you Vanessa Sad

yes i love my mirena. i'm going to take it out next month though to ttc but i will get another put back in once the baby is born. which one do you have the non- hormonal one? i had alot of problems on that one. i bled constantly and really heavy so i had to have it removed.
not to worry you but i had cramping with my first one and it actually came out. the cramping was my womb contracting to dispel it. you need to make sure it is still in place once the cramping stops.

Does Mirena offer a non-hormonal one?? Im going to go get mine finally. I just been scared of getting it because alot of people told me about the bleeding irregularly and cramping.

They do offer an IUD that isn't hormonal, but it isn't a Mirena.

I also have a Mirena. For a while I bled every other day it seemed like. It wasn't heavy, but it was still annoying. My cramps were worse than they used to be, but not bad. I have had it for 4 1/2 months and it seems like it is finally starting to get better. I would recommend it to anyone.

I can't get an iud. Apparently my doctor thinks I'd be at higher risk for PID.

i have the mirena. I feel WAY better today. Everyone I know liked it and i was told the difference between it and the non hormonal one is that this one can make you not get a period, which after having 3 in one month i am all about.

yes ma'am i is! ^_^ cant waiiiiit!

theres no garauntee tho.. it all depends on how long its been since it was done, how well ur bosy heals, and what TYPE of tubal u had.

Is it just me or have ur periods gotten wacky and heavier since u got ur tubes tied?
