Your doctor will probably use cervadil
(sp?) to ripen your cervix before the
induction begins.
When is your induction? Good luck!

Did s/he tell you what s/he plans to do?
How the induction will proceed?

Aww honey! 42 weeks, I feel for you!! I
was miserable at 36, I can only imagine
how rough you are feeling!
I was induced for my labor at 36 weeks. I
was only 1cm, and it had been staying like
that for weeks prior. (I was induced due
to preeclampsia)
They started my induction at 9am and
nothing progressed any further even after
he broke my water manually. It wasn't
until I got my epidural at 5pm that any
progress started to show. Kyleigh was born
3 and a half hours later.
I don't think there's anything you can do
to make yourself start dilating and
effacing.
If you are worried about the induction, I
wouldn't be. It was actually kind of less
stressful because I knew EXACTLY when I
was going into labor. There was no
guessing if I needed to go to the hospital
at 2 am, or guessing if I was having labor
pains or false labor.
It was actually pleasant for labor.
That's an oxymoron, right?
