Birth Control Counteractions? Anti-histamines
Posted: 10-05-07 17:01pm

Hello, the birth control I'm using indicates that counteraction will or may occur with anti-biodics. I've also heard (but am not positive) that anti-histamines may interfere as well.

I've been using Extra Strength OTC nasal drops quite regularly. It reccently occured to me that they maybe considered as an anti-histamine. I'm not sure if they fall into an anti-histamine category... their main ingredient is Phenylephrine HCI 1% followed by Benzalkonium Chloride.

Could this affect my medication?

Thank you greatly. Very
Happy

No, anti histamines will not interact with birth control.

You are safe!

They might make you have less lubrication though, so you might need some store bought lubricant while you are on them. Just a thought. Smile
