I guess the bottom line is nobody know what it looks like.. they are all just guessing..

I know what an 8/9 weeks old embryo/fetus looks like, having seen one. People do know about pregnancy stages and human development, they don't just guess (if they did why would ultrasounds be used to date pregnancies?)

well, that was my point.. I think pregnancy .com is there to show you what your baby is looking like through the stages.. I don't think they would put fake pictures on it. It is a site to inform and teach women as they go through there pregnancy.

Ok... i have my human growth and developement book right in front of me... I am looking at it right now..... at 6 and 7 weeks... they have a human shape... not fully developed yet.... but you can see what it is... are you saying this book is misinforming me to? It has fetal stages...... also pulled out the Human A&P book..... I am looking at it.... it says in weeks 5 through 7 the embroyonic body and face develop a more human like appearance.... I am looking at pictures...... I am not easily fooled....... that is your opinion.. I was just looking for the facts.... it is what i found. These books do not talk about abortion.... so I was saying I was misinformed about the way they did it... how many weeks they were when they did it... and if it already had a heart beat at the time of it.... I was told that you had to be atleast 8 weeks before they would give an abortion...to make sure they got all of it out..... Im not saying that is fact.... just what I was told. Again..... it will be my daughters choice... but I will let her see the site and read many books on it before she makes a dicision... She will not be mislead like I was..... That is all I am saying... She will be the one who would have to live with her dicision... not me.

lol! I thought you didn't know what they looked like until you saw the pictures on the websites!!!!

The site I showed you is the leading embryonic research center in the world. Click around and look at more than just that one page. You might find it interesting.

Sadie: You only started being pro-life when you figured out that foetuses resembled human beings?

I was just saying..... I thought they did them before they took human form....I was told by someone in the medical field that they did it at about 8 weeks..... I am looking at it from all views.... not just yours or mine.... I am for what anyone else want to do with their own body..... I don't care how many abortions you have or anyone else has.... What I saw changed my mind about it and it is my opinion... That is what this is about ..... opinions... doesn't mean anyone is right or wrong...I just have a different out look on it now.....

They DO perform abortions at eight weeks, Sadie. In fact, betweens weeks 6 and 12 is when about 60% of ALL abortions take place.

It's perfectly fine to be personally pro-life, as long as you respect the rights of others. I highly respect that point of view and give kudos to anyone who can actually say "I'd never do it, but you have the right to."

Eiri, 56% of abortions are done by 8 weeks, 90% by 12. The main reason why any abortions occur later than that is pro-life legislation, ironically enough.

Things like mandatory parental consent causes many teens to delay an abortion for fear of telling their parents, or having to travel to states where there is no such law, or waiting until they turn 18 if they are close to their birthdays.

Also, mandatory waiting periods, like having to wait 24 hours after you see a counselor at a clinic causes delays, because some women have to travel great distances to get to a clinic in the first place. Since the majority of women getting abortions already have children, they have to arrange childcare and time off from work to get away for two days. Most can't stay overnight (24 hours) so they have to make 2 appointments, hence the delay.

Why was it ok to have an abortion before it took human form?

Huzza, an even larger number! I wanted to go higher but as I didn't have the stat in front of me I played it safe.

I don't see the point; you were NOT misled. Not by pro-choicers anyway. Afterwards you were misled by pro-lifers and you've now been fooled into thinking that miniature babies are being aborted. It's not true.

Does a 12 week fetus look slightly human? I guess, if your opinion of a human has a gigantic head with enormous black eyes, a tiny face, stick-thin limbs and a body about the length of its head... and all of that is less than the length of the palm of your hand. Far less.

Regardless of how they looked what exactly did you think a human embryo was?

They do them at any time (here, "socially" up until and during 24th week, up until birth for fetal abnormality/maternal health)

This is a pro-choice view- if you have no concern about a woman having an abortion but personally wouldn't then this is pro-choice
