This is two posts above mine, and is what I was responding to. Stop bringing marriage up in an abortion debate if you don't want to talk about it anymore.

Good day.

Just what century are you from? Is this pro-life talk? The teenager who aborted her child may not be responsible for the abortion. Her parents or bf or someone else may have given her no choice. Whether it was her choice or not....yes...she will have to live with it....but that does not make her unmarriable. You know....there are men out there(yes...even pl men) who don't judge someone on their past....being that we all make mistakes. I have to ask you....are you perfect? If the answer is yes....then you are delusional....and if the answer is no.....then you better stop judging people and step out of Gods shoes....because He might be needing them. You sir....are why pc hate pl so much.

I wouldn't say pro-choicers "hate" pro-lifers. We just don't agree with their views. I don't hate anyone.
I just get annoyed when pro-life opinions are SHOVED in my face when I'm driving home. That doesn't make me hateful, it makes me normal.

I wouldn't say a mother who aborted is any stronger or weaker than a mother who gave birth.

As a mother who gave birth to an unexpected child, looking back, I wouldn't have changed my decision. I was told by my mother that I should abort, but I knew that I could provide for my child and I knew I could be a good mother to her.

For those women who abort, each woman makes that decision for different reasons. I don't think it's anyone's business why someone aborted or that they even did in the first place.

I think most women would agree that not all women pop out of the abortion clinic "happy and relieved." Some feel extreme guilt and most are in pain and are woosy from the medications.

What about emergency contraceptive, or the "morning after pill?" Those are meant for "aborting" a potentially fertilized egg.
I would say that a lot women who take the M.A.P. do so at the hospital after having been raped. Do you consider these women so "stained" as well? It's almost the same thing.

I'd recommend not commenting on my marriage comment if you find it to be an irritant. That way it gets buried.

I can comment on it if I want to. If you want it buried, stop mentioning it. You're the only one that brings it into these conversations.

No these women are victims, victims are not stained, I do not discriminate against helpless victims, although i feel that ladies who abort frivolously do!

So which is it? Do you want it buried or do you want people to comment on it?

I think there are more important things to talk about, although people seem to want to grasp onto that one comment. Including you!

I agree with your post up until this part. This is incorrect. "Plan B" does not abort a fertilized egg. It delays ovulation. If it aborted fertilized eggs it would be 100% effective, which it is not, not even close.

Maybe it's because you keep bringing it up in just about every post you make. Just a thought.

Do you have anything to contribute to the abortion debate apart from not wanting to marry a woman who's had one?

I have contributed plenty but you are too hung up on my marital comment to see! Open your eyes & mind and you might be surprised at what flows in! Smile

A teenager who was literally given no choice would fall under the "Victim" category and would be excluded from the "Unmarriable" status. I hope that clarification helps.

According to Birch I am neither pro-life or pro-choice, and that suits me just fine!

Victims of rape are not "Stained" they are victims and are excluded from any stigma since their abortion is not considered frivolous. They are fully marriable. I hope that helps explain my position. Razz

Just making sure.

And I guess the nurse gave me false information when she had me take the morning after pill. She told me that if I had gotten pregnant as a result from the rape then the pill would make my body abort it. She used that word.

I understand that you are against frivolous abortions. I'm pro-choice, unless abortion is being used as a form of birth control-which unfortunately happens a lot.

I think women who abort are stronger. I feel it takes a lot sometimes to stand in the face of retarded protesting pro-lifers, to do something their families, friends and partners may object to, and to think more about whether or not they can afford or properly support the child even if it is very wanted and realize, in some cases, that they cannot afford a baby at that time or are just plain not ready for one. Some women can abort without a second thought, but for others it's an agonizing decision.

Women who keep unplanned babies when they know they can't afford them or can't care for them properly or find people to help care for them properly are just plain stupid and I pity no one in that type of situation but the child. Some women tend to think that babies make everything perfect, fix broken relationships/marriages, that God will provide for them and that everything will overall be okay. These are usually the children who grow up in poverty or with only one parent or in the system.

I agree with Cambion on this one. What a terrible choice to have to make. As for the word "retarded". I work with adults who suffer from various intellectual challenges and if you ever saw their sad faces when somebody calls them a "retard", you would never let the word pass your lips again.

I didn't realize it was such an insult, but I wouldn't have used it in fromt of those children to begin with. Here is the definition:
re·tard·ed
–adjective 1. characterized by retardation: a retarded child.

To be delayed.

"To be delayed" is how I've always used it. And if I called somebody retarded, while I knew it was an insult, I meant it as "Are you slow or something?" etc.
