Help! Posted: 10-07-07 18:58pm
So my daughter is now 3 weeks and 2 days
old. My pediatrician thinks she might have
a slight case of colic. She only gets
fussy at night. There is NOTHING I can do
to soothe her. Is it ok to just let her
cry it out until she falls asleep?? I
feel so bad, but there is nothing I can do
for her. Shes fed, clean diaper
etc.....please help

colic is not nice. have you tried changing
her bottles to anti colic bottles? use
infacol? i dont think it would be a good
idea to let her cry til she falls asleep
because she is in pain and needs you to
wind her. william had colic and it was
horrible but he got over it.

3 weeks seems awfully young to let her cry
it out. She's
still brand new in this world and she
needs to feel safe and loved. I'm not sure
that leaving her to cry in her crib is
going to do anything positive at 3 weeks
of age.
Have you tried Mylicon gas relief drops?
She could have an upset stomach.
This will most likely pass. A lot of
babies go through this.

My daughter is now 3 months. have you
tried the gas relief drops for infants.
*Liquid Gold* and trust me they work. I
use to put her in her car seat try going
for a drive or put her in her stroller and
walk up the block. I have also put her in
her car seat and placed her ON (almost
typed in but ON) the dryer or the spin
cycle of the washing machine. I have also
put her in her swing or bouncer or even
the car seat moved her to the bathroom
door and took a hot shower while she cried
(hey you have to sometimes.) The noise of
the water usually calmed her and the
shower and being able to wash my hair
calmed me so when the next fit of crying
came I was able to go to her calmly. I
have also just had to let her cry when it
was to the point where I couldn't take it
anymore I would put her down in her crib
and call a friend and ask for help. Sit
outside or away from her for a couple of
minutes and go in and try again. Mine
also liked to be wrapped up tightly. Just
a couple of things I picked up. Hope it
helps.
