a.d.d. as a child, now very tired every day- Chronic Fatigue Posted: 10-08-07 07:08am
Hello. Ive got a problem.
when i was a kid i had a.d.d. and i was
hyperactive.things have changed. last few
years (approx 7) i have been very tired
every day. i can sleep 15 hours without
waking up and even that wont help me.
coffee, guarana, energy drinks, yerba mate
etc didnt help me. only made me worse (i
drank coffee before sleeping for a better
sleep for a while). a half a year ago i
had problems with sleeping and i couldnt
fall asleep although i was very tired.it
went away, thank goodness.
i dont know if that could change anything
but im a little bit depresive,im not
crying or something like that but i just
cant be happy and thats how it has been
all of my life, all things seem to me
unneccesary,if i had a choice i had not
born, all i see are the bad things in
life,i dont think im going to live much or
even if i will i wont be happy.
my blood pressure is normal (it was high
some years ago).
experts say that i should get into sports
but sports wont help. i ride my bike very
often, i swim and do lots of other
things.if that changes something i have to
say i cant run for a long time. after few
seconds i could vommit out my soul.it has
never changed although i am rather
sporty.
ive tried everything and im desperate. i
had to ask here (as my last chance) what
can i do before i try my luck in
amphetamines. ive heard that helps a lot.
its seroius because its my last year in
school but i cant concentrate in lessons
and cant keep myself awake.thats why i
even assume taking drugs if it helps.i
have no time to wait till goes away or use
time-consuming methods.this can ruin my
life.
thanks in advance.

Have you had a blood test? Total bloods
might turn up something.
If you've been sick lately you might have
Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome, which results
from damage to the immune system.

many people who've gone through having
ADHD also turn up with depression. I bet
that's what you are struggling with,
especially as you describe your other
symptoms. Have you seen anyone about it?

some retired doctors i know (relatives,
family friends) say that i should do some
sport activities (but i do) and sleep
well. it does not help me.good sleep can
prevent my drowsiness for 5-10 minutes.
the last blood test did not show anything
special as i was told. not sure any doctor
would say anything else.

That is the only symptom you are having
righ now? You well may have sleep apnia.
This is where the brain forgets to tell
you to breath while you are sleeping and
you do actually stop breathing for a few
seconds. Do you smore? If you do you well
might talk to your doctor about sleep
apnia. This will make you feel really
fitigued durning your waking hours. I
really does not matter how long you sleep
if it is unknowingly interupted with
this.

Most people do snore. But I have seen
people that don't. But, very seldom. My
mom and sister both have sleep apnea and
they both snore. I never worked in a sleep
study lab, so it is hard for me to judge
at this point. But, your symptoms of being
so tired during the day really do mimick
this problem. This is just my own theory
and you really need to advice of your
doctor for a real diagnosis. Sleep study
lab is painless. They hook you up to a
bunch of electrodes and tell you to go to
sleep in a dark hospital room just for
sleep study. Usually go in about 8pm and
come home around 5am. Very hard to fall
asleep know someone is monitoring your
sleep habits. My sister actually stopped
breathing over 200 times! I don't know
about mom. They are both always tired,
even with many hours of sleep.
