I have Antithrombin III (ATIII) deficiency
in my family. I was tested negative as
child (>35 yrs ago), and to my
knowledge neither of my parents (now
deceased) had ATIII deficiency. One of my
relatives has recently told me that ATIII
deficiency can show up later and has
suggested I get retested. I am aware of
acquired ATIII deficiency, so other than
this, can ATIII deficiency be latent and
show up undetected? In other words,
should I be concerned and get rested?
