Chronic Constipation Lasting 2 Weeks Now Posted: 10-08-07 20:38pm
Hi, I'm a 16 year old boy about 5'7 and
130 lbs. For the last 2 weeks, I've been
constipated. I've had a BM on almost every
day during those 2 weeks but they've all
been really hard and large and difficult
to pass. I'm not eating anything different
from what I usually eat, but what do you
think is wrong? What can I do? I keep
thinking it's going to get better, but it
never does. Today was the worst day so
far. Please help me, if anyone has
anything.
I know this has probably been asked a
million times before, but I want to know
if anyone has any suggestions! Thanks.

Little late on the response, hope you are
still even checking this post.
I had some issues recently as I quit
taking drugs and changed my diet. There
are a few things you can do to help.
1. An enema. Go to the store and buy one
or get a friend/parent to get it for you
if you are embarrassed. Its just fluid
with a minor lubricant which may help you.
All you gotta do is follow the
instructions...lube tip...insert in
rectum....squeeze bottle till its all in
there.. hold.....relax. It cured me in
about 5 min.
2. Mild Laxative. There are teas and
other minor ones that wont cause cramping.
Even stool softeners work but take a
little time.
3. Coffee does it for me every time!
4. Dont sit on the pot too long. That
can lead to hemorrhoids.
5. Keep moving around and drinking LOTS
of water.
6. Fiber...
The list goes on.

hmmm just reread that part. Stool
softeners, over the counter, go to the
pharmacy. Magnesium supplements also help
loosen stool.

Hey thanks! Normally I would go half a day
without drinking water and once I started
drinking water, it wasn't very much. I
also didn't eat that many fruits and
vegetables. I changed that and I finally
told my parents about this 2 1/2 week-long
constipation (I'd been way too
embarassed!) and I took a
Metamucil-imitation fiber supplement for 3
days and the constipation appears to be
gone finally. Hopefully it'll stay that
way.
