Can I be pregnant now that my period arrived ? Posted: 10-09-07 09:06am
on sunday i had sex with my boyfriend,
completely unprotected. i've been having
cramps for about week so i knew i was due
a period and today it finally came. am i
correct in thinking that theres no way or
very minimal chance i can be pregnant now
since my period arrived?

No, that is incorrect. Although I doubt
you are pregnant, some women who ARE
pregnant have a period every month until
they give birth.

Whenever you have unprotected sex there is
a risk of pregnancy. If your period has
started, you most likely are not pregnant.

Yes, agreed. But her question was, is she
correct in thinking that because a period
has arrived, there is NO chance of
pregnancy.
That is untrue because some women have a
period for their whole gestation of
pregnancy. Some women, just not most.

You are most likely not pregnant based on
the information given.
However, you could be pregnant. No one can
tell you what your risks of pregnancy are
or not.
If you feel you are pregnant, please take
a pregnancy test approximately 14 days
after the suspected date of conception. If
you do not know when you ovulate, please
use an ovulation predictor kit. If this is
after the fact wait until you miss your
period.

oki a little update, i had really bad
cramps on tuesday and got my period..i was
really light and it lasted maybe 1.5-2
days..but yesterday i started with a
little light cramping and like a brown
discharge.. i know its too early to be
implantation bleeding, but i just need
someone to tell me my mind is overthinking
everything.
