Headache After Every Round of Golf - Please Help. Posted: 10-12-07 13:05pm
I get headache after I play a round of
golf. I understand the heat may be a
factor and I've done plenty precautions
attempting to prevent they all failed.
I've done the followings:
1. Drink a lot of water.
2. Wear a hat, a visor, a hat with
breathing holes to cool my head.
3. Take 2 Advils starting on the 10th
hole.
4. Stay in shades as much as possible.
5. Ride more than walking.
I don't know what else to try, please
help.

Does this occur after any other physical
activity? (mowing the lawn, walking, sex,
ect). Have you ever been tested for
allergies?
Can you describe the headache? dull,
sharp, top of head, stuff like that...

It's more like a tension headache and I
don't experience it after other physical
activities.

It could actually be a tension headache.
It could be from the muscles that you are
using to swing the club. They may cramp up
or be sore from use, and cause a headache.
How often do you golf?

a Few Questions.... Posted: 10-14-07 17:43pm
Out of curiosity, what time of day do you
golf? I don't know much about golf.But I
would imagine you're out there quite
awhile. If you golf in the afternoon, you
may want to try to go earlier, when it's
not as hot or as bright out.
Over the counter meds are known to cause
rebound headaches if taken too often.Have
you talked to your dr?
How long has this been going on?Did it
start recently? If you do notice it
happening other times, you may want to
start keeping a pain diary.If this hasn't
gone on that long,maybe it'll pass.If not
or you find it happening other times, the
diary can help track other triggers. And
you may want to ask a dr.
I can tell you,light,sun is a trigger
for me.I wear sunglasses in the grocery
store and a hat.It doesn't always stop
pain from coming. But I do it anyway.
Good luck

I totally agree with audreyann........try
going early in the morning , there are
people here at the golf course as early as
7:00am............your headaches could be
stressed related, although we don't think
of our selves as stressed.........a game
of golf is strategic enough!
