Causes For Being Hypoglycemic Posted: 10-12-07 20:22pm
Hey all, my name is Jake and I believe
that I have a generally mild form of
hypoglycemia. My symptoms include extreme
dizzyness, shakiness, insane hunger
(usually occurs after the dizziness goes
away), and I also get easily angered. I've
only done some simple blood tests but the
doctor says that I appear to be perfectly
healthy. I've been living with this
condition for about 3 years now but just a
couple months ago the dizzy attacks have
gotten extremely strong. If I don't
immediately have protein when I get dizzy,
I feel like I can't even function and
worry about fainting. I've read some of
the diets on this page but they seem so
complicated to follow. Considering I am
only 16 years of age, and have school and
a job to worry about. I also get confused
on what I'm supposed to eat and what not
to eat. Everyone seems to have different
opinions on what works and what doesn't...
I feel so depressed. My question is... Is
there a relatively simple diet I can
follow? And what could be the cause of my
hypoglycemia at such a young age? Is it
because I'm growing so fast? I'm 6 feet, 2
inches tall, yet only weigh 165. If
someone could shed some light on what I
need to do, that would be great.

You were probably born with it. Did you
read my diet on here? Do it.

The doctor will only see that your
hypoglycemic in a blood test..if at the
time of the test you were experiencing
hypoglycemic symptoms which it sounds like
you have.
But it is impossible for a doctor to
diagnose you with it unless they have
actual results. Especially with
hypogylcemia because they don't know alot
about it. There is only the one test I am
pretty sure that shows your blood sugar
levels and if you are feeling ok during
your test than it won't show.
I was born with hypoglycemia but the
symptoms didn't get bad until about grade
3. The doctors my whole life told me I was
perfectly healthy until I was about 18 and
I had a test taken when I was actually
feeling the symptoms. Then it showed I was
hypoglycemic. But still doctors do not
know enough about it yet. So your best bet
would be a naturapath and online I think.
I had the test in the morning right after
I had eaten hashbrowns, eggs and toast
with water. maybe 20 mins after.
It is harsh but if you want your doc to
know whats going on. You have to get him
to test you when you feel like hell..then
he can see what is happening in your
system. If you can, get him to check for
anything that could be causing it at that
time because you don't want to have to go
through that again for a whole new test.

You can have positive results but feel
fine during the test, I did.
