I rarely watch TV or listen to the radio
or even read magazines, so the music I
listen to is there because I like it.
Which means there's a lot of it, but it's
all from different places.
I'm not familiar with many of them but
Pink Floyd and Bob Dylan. Any recs for the
others?
On my end- How about Okkervil River? Over
on their webpage they have free downloads
of some of their songs. Download 'The War
Criminal Rises And Speaks'. It is
beautiful. Here's the link: http://www.jound.com/ok
kervil/songs.html

Hey, who the heck reported my post? They
have some very interesting album art, I
agree. Anyway, it turned out I'd mislinked
you to the downloading bit, which is
located here: http://www.jound.com/okke
rvil/mp3.html
(THIS IS THE OFFICIAL SITE YOU GUYS I'M
NOT DOING ANYTHING ILLEGAL)
I meant, do you have any songs you'd
recommend to me by Thin Lizzy and the
other bands you mentioned. Sorry, I'm on a
sleeping tablet again, and it tends to
drive me a little loopy before finally
knocking me out enough for sleeping.

I didn't do it rodge, but you can't link
to any site that sells anything. (But I
never saw the post so I really don't
know)
Guest, You never answered my question, I
was really wondering what that meant. "God
gave them over to...."
To me it sounds like God gave people the
"illness" of homosexuality- but I'm
guessing you have a better explanation for
that phrase.

In my opinion, a good artist would present
you with their meaning, and would want and
encourage you to go beyond what you've
been told and find your own
explanation/meaning.

Have you never taken an art class? That's
what modern art history is all about!
Heck, that's what modern art is about
period!!!
And I hate it XD
But since we cannot talk to the original
artist of the bible, we MUST make our own
conclusions. You say the Pope is divinely
inspired, but there is no way to prove
that. No, quoting scripture is not proof.

People hated Stravinsky when he was
introduced, too.

Stravinsky? I hate Pollok... He was
introduced 50 years ago and people loved
him then and still do now. People still
love Van Go. I hate both of them.

I think pollok was just an oridnary guy
with no special talent. I mean my 11 month
old son can whip around a paint brush and
get the same effect he apparently is so
renouned for...

Exactly. He himself admitted that he
didn't know how to draw or paint, but he
still wanted to make "art".

Art is subjective, so it doesn't really
matter.

opinion on art?

Anyone's opinion on art, I suppose. Styles
and tastes and content have changed so
much over the years that art is defined
from person to person.

I'm of the school of thought that does not
believe all art is subjective. I do not
believe Pollock made art. I believe art
must have certain... aesthetic aspects to
it. I also do not believe a urinal on a
wall is art, nor is a pile of trash in a
gallery art.
Like I said, I hate modern art. True art
is now in videogames, illustration, and
animation.

Yeah, but what those aesthetic aspects
are differs from person to person.
It's like music in that way, or poetry-
both of which count as art to certain
people.
It's complicated stuff, so I just stick
with what I, personally, find beautiful.
