My Very Stict Diet Bothers Men Posted: 10-13-07 07:44am
I eat a very strict diet which I have done
for the past 10 years. I eat nothing w/
fat in it and it's the only way I can keep
slim. I am a vegan also. I take
vitamins/minerals (& omega 3's are my
only source of fat, like 1 gram per
day...it's the only fat the body needs).
I am not anorexic or bulemic and I never
will be. I have to eat every 3-4 hrs or
else I will get dizzy. I never cheat, I
haven't cheated in over 10 years. I have
no desire to. It does not bother me one
bit. I am 5'11" and a size 5-6 so I look
pretty good. When I was in my early 20's
I was too skinny & a size 4 and I
recently put on 10 lbs on purpose &
now I am just maintaining. I have tried
to incorporate a tiny amount of fat in my
diet like 6-7 grams of fat per day but
then I start to gain weight. As soon as I
take the fat back out, I lose the weight.
It's like my body just stores any tiny
amount of fat I eat. I also jog or walk
at a fast pace 4 miles every morning. I am
a fitness expert and very educated and
certified in health/fitness/nutrition.
The problem is that every time i get into
a relationship w/ a guy he can't stand the
way I eat. He thinks it's weird which
makes me feel bad, so then i just end the
relationship since I can't even eat around
him w/out feeling self conscious. Who
wants to be around someone who thinks you
are weird??!!! He SURE does love the way I
look though!! I tell him I look this good
for a reason, and I can't eat what I want
and look the same. I love being slim and
I feel great!! I am in good health too. I
am a good person w/ a great sense of
humor, caring & honest too. Why does
the way I eat bother men so much? He
wants me to cheat but I don't want to at
all & I won't. I know what the
results will be. I feel like I'm being
penalized for eating healthy. More people
should eat like I do but society does not
practice that. How am I supposed to ever
have a relationship w/ a guy & have
him not think I am weird? I honeslty feel
that is the ONLY reason I am not married
yet. Are there any guys out there can
enlighten me on this?

I work for a Raw/vegan website and my boss
is a Raw Author, currently speaking at the
Raw Spirit festival in Sedona. Im glad you
are getting some fat. You know how
important it is to not overeat fruit and
to get your good fats so I will hold off
on preaching, although I would really want
to see more nuts, coco oil ect in my body
if i were you, but thats not why you are
here.
Sometimes people are offended by the way
others act because it makes them think
about the things they do. Its like that
for recovering alcoholics and such. You
eating healthy in front of him may be
causing him to reflect on his own life
style and maybe he doesnt like that. Its
kinda like a recovering alcoholic
refraining from drinking around others who
dont want to admit they have a problem.
They tend to bash on the person in hopes
of avoiding there own issues and
reinforcing that they dont have a
problem.
Just a suggestion, it does sound similar.
I know that If I were in a relationship
with you, I would support you to no end.
Go to farmers markets, juice, read authors
to educate myself on your practices...all
that. My point? Keep on looking. Not
every guy will feel that way, I sure as
heck wouldnt.

Thanks for saying you would support me!!
I know you said for me to eat more nuts
and I am against coconut oil. I sware,
the tiniest fat I eat gets stored in my
body. I love being slim but in order to
stay that way I have to do what works for
me....trust me, I'm speaking from trial
and error here. Thanks for the support.

Hello,
I am glad to hear from a person without
anorexia/bulimia. In this world to be so
straight as u are is very rare and u sound
great.
I am recovering by myself from binging
eating disorder. and have anorexia bulimia
behind my shoulders so I am not the one
who can advice u. But my experience puts
me in a position where I can judge about
the reaction of men on different eating
style.
I remember myself being anorexic. I ate no
meat just yougurt and fruit and took no
alcohol at all....so u can imagine how
crazy my adorers got when they
invited me. It was a problem for me
too...an invitation to the pizeria was the
drama for me.
I won a stipendium and studied
abroad...the international students club
organized domestic cuisine weekends, every
foreighn student cooked, i could not
attend the club and was deprived of many
opportunities as u can imagine....
now when I am back to normal i injoy food,
and u should see how my boyfirend loves to
see me enjoying different
things...eventhough i am vegeterian
just show men u enjoy life

5 foot 11 and a size 5 - 6 sounds
horrific, I'm sorry, does EVERYONE you
know think you look great. Why can you
only eat 5 -6 grams of fat? What's wrong
with being a size 10? Have you had your
bone mass analysed? Do you menstruate?
You sound healthy, but you also sound
obsessed. How would you feel if you got
ill and gained 14 pounds in 2 weeks while
recovering (exageration). Would this make
you panic and/or feel bad? When did you
decide to eat this way, as it cant be a
way of eating from birth?
Also, you say your body stores little fat
but also that eating NO fat is the only
way you can keep thin. This not does make
sense.
Why are you posting on an ED forum instead
of a relationships forum?
These questions arent intended to annoy
you, but try to answer each one honestly.
If you do and you are in perfect mental
and physical health, then my answer is
that someone who probably wont go out and
enjoy drinks or a picnic or a nice
restaurant or a family dinner with in-laws
gets tiresome.
