I was born, evolved, developed empathy, learned about our world, and understood why prochoice is the only answer.

I've just always thought it was wrong. The thought of taking a human life is just...wrong to me. That is all. Maybe someday I will understand pro-choice, but not now.

kaiteo, what do you mean exactly by human life?

You don't mean human tissue, eggs, sperm, etc, do you? What exactly constitutes human life in your opinion?

An embryo is a human life. A fetus is a human life.

Don't test me because you think it will upset me.

When you are pregnant, there is a human life inside of you.

Indeed, it isn't another species but that doen't mean women shouldn't have the right to contro whether or not to continue with it.

As to the original question I have always been PC, more so when I found myself with an unwanted prenancy whilst at university. It was the best option for me and I was pleased I was able to gain access to a safe legal abortion.

An unwanted pregnancy? Meaning you weren't in danger whatsoever?

So you had somebody kill your own child so you could finish school. How selfish. That disgusts me.

I just think that if you're gonna have a baby, it should be a happy event. If it's not, then you should have the right to not have it. There's a bunch of stuff about misogyny tied in there, but my first basic beliefs were about that right to happiness. If nobody involved is going to be happy with the outcome, don't do it.

So if your child makes you upset and you don't want to be a parent anymore, you should be able to kill your child out of the womb, also. Right?

Closed minded people disgust me.

Yes it was unwanted, that is all you know of my situation so please don't judge but part of the reason was so I could graduate, get my career and have children when I was in a stable position to (as I am now).

You don't think having a child is selfish? You've never been selfish?

I thought you didn't like it when people took your beliefs way out of context to provoke you. Why are you doing it to me?

If you really don't want to be a parent anymore, then you shouldn't be. But since the kid has been born in the scenario you envision, and therefore is ...'escapable', let's say, there are other options to take. When you're pregnant? It's just you and the foetus, for nine long miserable months.

Everybody has been selfish at some time, you know that. No, having a child is not selfish.
In case you missed it, I'm pregnant. I guess I'm selfish for creating a child of my own?

Well, by carrying your own child, you're forcing a kid who wasn't aborted to live in care, so yeah, it could be interpreted that way. There aren't many people who WOULD interpret it that way, of course, so we'll forget about that.

Congratulations, by the way. Oh, and to you too, Moo! Very
Happy

I never said it was, that's how you interpreted it. It isn't always a bad thing to be selfish.

Neither is abortion, then. Look at it as giving a child a chance to be born to parents that love it and want it, instead of everyone being miserable forever.

It depends upon the situation entirely. It was the responsible thing for me to do and I think not bringing an unwanted child into the world was a good thing given the situation
