So Aggravaaaaated!!
Posted: 10-13-07 19:13pm

So I called my Dr's office yesterday to find out what was going to go on at my appt on Mon. And basically to find out if/when I would get the gender determination.

So the lady was like "well your nurse hasn't written up your chart yet, but if I were to guess, it'll prob just be a measurment(with the tape measurer Rolling Eyes ) of your uterus.

So I asked "well when does he do the gender determination?"
And she says "ohh..he doesn't do sex determination by ultrasound..."
and I said "WHAT?!?! Why didn't *I* know this from the beginning?!"

So she asked me how many u/s's I'd had and I said one (because the 1st one, I was supposed to be 15 weeks and wound up only being 9 so he just shot a quick pic for me...)

And she said "well you could have asked him at that u/s to see if he could tell."
and I said "well I was only 15 weeks...I didn't think you oculd even tell them! Man I wish I knew this!"

And all she could say was "I'm so sorry...you'll get another one at around 38 weeks...?"

But in all reality...if I can make it to 38 weeks without knowing...then I might as well wait till I have it! Grrr!!

We've been thinking about just not finding out. I mean how many surprises are REALLY left in life?!?!?!
But on the other hand I REALLY REALLY want to know!!!

Sarah

lol girl you'll haveTHOUSANDS more surprises with two baba's running around.. surprises for the next 18+ years!

i'd find out.. maybe pay a little extra and go have a 3D scan done. Theres a place in Orlando that has a theater you get it done in and can have like, 15 people in there watching with you. its pretty neat and its only like $99.

I just hated when I paid $150 to see what sex Oni was and it was only 5 mins of my life.
Maybe I can find a cheap place that only specializes in u/s...

I voted that you should find out the sex! I couldn't find out with Kaylee until I was 36-37 weeks (Can't really remember when, I know it was like 2 weeks before I had her) because she was always laying the wrong way & it was so aggravating. I wanted to have either a little boys or little girls room, not yellow & green!

Oh man that is a tough one. I have always thought that I would want it to be a suprise, but every time I think about it, I would want to find out. That way we would have that much more time to pick a name and stick with it and refer to him/her. Also you can get their room all decorated and get clothes and all that stuf.

I personally would want to know for sure. My friend had 2 u/s and they couldn't tell the sex of the baby for sure...THey were only 75% sure she was a girl. She wanted to know, so she paid the extra money to get the 4D u/s done.

Ya see...and that's just it. There are people out there that DO have the oppurtunity to find out the sex and can't...

I found a place, in Baton Rouge (about 2 1/2 hours from me in New Orleans), and they have a GREAT package.

For Oni (which was just a 2d u/s for like 5 mins) I paid $150.

This is the package I'm interested in...

*4D Ultrasound Package: $149 Single $199 Twins
*Performed by a Certified Obstetrical Ultrasonographer
*DVD Copy of Session Set to Music
*One Hour Appointment
*Color and B&W Printed Pictures
*CD-R with Image Files, Great for Emailing or Printing
*Gender Determination
*$20 Discount on any Future Visit (Same Pregnancy)

Hell, if i get this, I'd be SET!! But mreh....I don't knooooowww!!

Oh I would do it Sarah. My friend that did it said that it was so worth the money, and it put her mind at ease with the gender.

ya with macy i was here in FL and my mil worked in the radiology dept at the hospital so i got a free ultrasound. with liam they couldnt schedule me til i was like 25 weeks and i wanted to know as soon as possible so i paid $80 for 30 mins of 3d ultrasound with 4 pics.

this time im going to one in Orlando where is $250 for two visits one at 17-20 weeks and one at 27-29 weeks 30 mins a peice both with dvds pics and a pic cd for emailing.

i hope you find out!! thats so not fair your doctors office is so unprofessional, youd think theyd tell you the schedule of your ultrasounds. or if he could see the sex at that one he could have said "do u want to know"

I think you should do find out!! It's soo much easier to plan when you know if it's a he or she. I'm so glad I was able to find out so soon, because I love calling him by his name instead of "it". Smile

I didn't get the whole "it's a girl!" thing.. the stupid midwife just went "did you know the sex?" & because I wasn't 100% sure I was like "erm.. well I think it's a girl" & she went "yeah it is" Neutral

I think you should find out Sarah.. that ultrasound package sounds awesome!
