Six out of 10 Americans Say Homosexual Relations Should Be Recognized as Legal
But Americans are evenly divided on issue of legal civil unions between homosexuals giving them the legal rights of married couples.

Homosexuality as an Acceptable Lifestyle

Indeed, a sizable percentage of Americans continue to frown on the homosexual lifestyle. In 1982, Gallup distinguished between Americans’ personal feelings about homosexuality from their opinions about its legality by asking this question: “Do you feel that homosexuality should be considered an acceptable alternative lifestyle or not?” At that time, just 34% said yes. Public acceptance on this measure has increased incrementally since that point, and our latest poll shows that a small majority, 54%, now agrees that homosexuality should be considered an acceptable lifestyle. Still, that leaves a substantial minority of 43% who disagree.

So if Majority Rules then, meblonde, homosexuality is an acceptable lifestyle and you should go along with the majority.

So because white people were the majority over black back in the day (and I think we still are) that means we get to have more say than they do. Brilliant.

Um, she has the word "source" written at the bottom of her post and it's colored like a Link. I assume her source is contained within.

Eiri, she's going to come back and say "being black isn't a choice, being gay is".
Which is totally not true, but...

She meant majority as in, people who think a gay lifestyle is acceptable. Not majority as in gay people.

Yes, meblonde there is. If you click on the word source at the bottom of the post it links you to the site.

It's a tricky way of not needing to post the whole address.

sodomy law???? is the site and sodomy means:

Any of various forms of sexual intercourse held to be unnatural or abnormal, especially anal intercourse or bestiality.

I don't think that site would stand for a good poll source of imformation..

Sodomy is homosexual sex and is still considered illegal in many places.

Most straight men love seeing lesbians have sex. Conversely, if there wasn't a stigma against it, women could freely admit to how much they like seeing gay men have sex.

I agree that most men don't like watching gay sex. It doesn't turn them on because a vagina isn't involved, and it's as simple as that. Personally, lesbian sex does nothing for ME because a penis isn't involved!

You don't think the Supreme Court is a good source? Obviously you are merely being arguementative or you'd have noted the fact the article and study were part of a supreme court ruling..

Lawrence & Garner v. State of Texas
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that sodomy laws are unconstitutional on June 26, 2003.

I always check my sources.

Tell me where in your post does it say anything about straight men like to watch gay men have sex.. Sorry I don't see the obvious you speak of. You went off tack and this post does not even pertain to the topic.. It speaks of the percentage of people that consider homosexuality acceptable. The percentage or majority of the people that agree homosexuality to be considered acceptable does not mean that straight men like to watch gay men have sex.. It has nothing to do with it..

I think she means that when you said straight men find gay sex disgusting, they were saying they don't approve of the gay lifestyle. She's showing you that more than half of Americans DO accept this lifestyle (which I would assume means they wouldn't find gay sex disgusting). I think. Don't quote me on this, but I'm trying.
