If you take it before the 5 days before your due for your period, then most likely you'll get a negative. Most people would probably say wait until after you've actually missed your period for the most accurate result.

ok here is what happened. My boyfriend and i always use the withdrawl method. We're really safe about it but this last time he idn't think he pulled out fast enough but we don't know. Now i have an appointment to start taking the depo shot on the 30th of october. I'm a real worry wart and i plan way ahead of myself. I just need a little advice on what i should do. Is it ok to take birth control before i take a pregnancy test?

Yes taking a pregnancy test early can give a false reading. Taking a pregnancy test with your first morning urine on or after the day your period is due will give more accurate results. I believe these directions are on the home pregnancy test boxes.
When is your period due?

When is your period due? I'd suggest talking to your doctor when you go in for the appointment, and see what she thinks you should do. Or you can call up ahead of time and ask.

No. It is not ok to get the shot without first telling your doctor if you think you may be pregnant. When is your period due?

Well the beginning of the month is still a few weeks away. So if I were you, I'd call the doctor's office and see what they want you to do. They may want to reschedule your appt until after you have had your period to make sure that you're not pregnant.

Withdrawal Method
i used the withdrawl method for about 13 years and fell pregnant 4 times so wait and see if you get your period first. At the moment i am 8 days late but pregancy test says negative. I just come off the pill had one period but as i say this one late. is this normal.

ould be evap lines, acurate readings need to be within the stated time frame.
As to the OP do not get the shot when there's a possibility of pg tell your doc and go from there

This question has been answered for you multiple times - approximately 4 weeks after your last period, TAKE A TEST.

Depo Appointment
Usually the doctor is going to check your urine when you go in for the shot...like having a physical. Have him check for pregnancy if you want. That way, you won't have to cancel your appointment..
Or, go to the store and buy one yourself.

thats an evap linbe and it means the test sat for too long
if they were neg at first then you are NOT pregnant
the EVAP LINE MEANS NOTHING
