Racing Heart When Relaxed Posted: 10-15-07 22:17pm
Hey all,
Wondering if anyone out there can help me.
I was sitting on the couch relaxing last
night after dinner, when all of a sudden
my heart started racing for no reason. I
wasn't feeling anxious about anything, nor
was I dwelling on anything. After I calmed
my self down a bit, I noticed my heart
rate was over 100 bpm for at least 4
hours. In the past I would get like this
at night. I would wake up for no reason
and my heart would take off for a little
while, I would sweat and panic, but it
wouldn't last as long as it did last
night. Is this normal for anxiety to last
that long? I am seeming to panic about
everything health related lately. I
comvince myself that I have a heart
problem... but dr's haven't found
anything. Last EKG was 3 weeks ago...
nada. Heck I am only 33 and feel like I am
loosing my mind. I can't understand why I
convince myself that I am sick? I know
better but it seems these attacks take
complete control no matter what I try and
I gotta sit in the back seat and hang on
till it's over.

Sure sounds like panic to me. And panic
attacks do not pick a certain time of the
day or night to happen. Take me for
instance, I am in a constant anxiety mode.
I call myself the Twisted Donut. For me I
have been diagnosed with severe anxiety
and panic. Was on 2mg of Xanax three times
a day for 4 years untill just recently
change over to Klonopin 1mg three times a
day.
Are you on any kind of breathing
medications, like for asthma? That will
cause you to be a bit tacky at times.
Other then that, seems like you got a
pretty good clean bill of health my
friend. I would not work yourself up over
this unless your doctor thinks there is
something wrong. Then treat it and forget
it.
