Overweight & Need Birth Control - Is BC less Effective ? Posted: 10-16-07 23:53pm


I am just above 200lbs and I need birth control. i dont want an exam done.is it possible?i heard birth control is less effective if you are overweight...but is it worht getting if its gonna be less effective?

You may be overwieght, but your vaginal health is very important! Your weight is no problem, as far as exams are concerned, doctors care for patients of all shapes and sizes. BC pills are not as effective in overweight women, but the IUD and NUVA ring are often a good method because they are not affected by weight.

You have to get an exam to get birth control anyway, don't you?
