I Don't Know If I Am Pregnant. Help!
Posted: 10-17-07 15:33pm

Wow, okay. I don't know if I am pregnant and I don't know what to do. I did have sex and we were stupid enough not to use protection. We were dumb but anyways, I am 14 years old and only a freshman in high school. I don't want to be pregnant because that totally can wreck my high school years and i don't even know how to explain to my parents that i did have sex and i might be pregnant. i havent tooken a pregnancy test because it has only been a day since my boyfriend and i had sex. so, should i take the test or wait for to see if i miss my period????? Sad

At this point you have to wait until your period is due and/or late before you take a pregnancy test. A pregnancy test will not be accurate before your period is supposed to come.

Second, DO NOT EVER have sex without birth control of some kind. Why weren't you guys using condoms at the very least? They give these things away LIKE CANDY at the Planned Parenthood. Get some. They are way cheaper than having a baby.

First off for all you young girls who don't want to be pregnant.........STOP HAVING UNPROTECTED SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unprotected sex = possible pregnancy amongst many other things. Please start using protection or stop having sex!!! I am sorry but after reading all your posts I can only pray that none of you are pregnant because it would be so unfair to those unborn children. So please girls start finding something less risky to do in your free time!!!!

if it's only been 1 day you still have time to get the morning after pill. though i don't know if you'd need your parents consent since you're only 14.

look into it NOW!

I believe you have about 3 days to take the morning after pill Ive never personally taken it but they were talking about that on the radio. You can contact your local Planned Parenthood to get one asap you just may have to wait alittle while, like at the office.

If you are unable to do that yes you will need to wait about 3 weeks before you can test. Until then stay calm and stress free and just wait it out.

No one is being 'nasty'. The simple truth of life is this: If you do not wish to become pregnant and you are not even grown up enough to talk to your parents about pregnancy, you NEED TO USE BIRTH CONTROL!

Birth control is free at planned parenthood, why on earth doesn't that get utilized more? Crazy.

sweetie at 14, you don't need to be talking to another 14 year old about anything like pregnancy. You need a mature adult to guide u though this. It is very early to tell. It's good that your scared because you can learn from this. Your lucky if your JUST pregnant, you have to consider aids, and all the other std's out there. but yea, if you really don't want any part of "pregnant" right now...take an after pill, it's bettter than an abortion. Take it from me. I have a 13 - 14- and 16 year old DAUGHTERS. good luck sweetie, and be more careful next time.

Th eway i see it is if you don't want a baby then use protection, there are only a small amount of people who get pregnant while using protection so believe it or not it's worth using it. Also another thing i think, not everyone may agree with this but anyway this is what i think: If you're too embarassed about your parents knowing you're having sex then don't have sex, my parents knew, they wern't happy about it but atleast they knew what was going on

Sex is an adult decision, yes it may be fun, or prove to your boyfriend you love him or whatever peer pressure may be involved. BUT agreeing with Ingi...the results, and consequences of sex are severe and adult decisions. If you are not even woman even to face your parents and be like "hey I know I am 14 but truth be told I am sexually active and grounded or not you cant really stop me---i need BC" then you shouldnt even be having sex...

If grounded is still a technique in your life you shouldnt be having sex.

If having a job, license, being legal isnt in youre scenerio.. then yeah...

But if you choose to go agianst the odds, please get on a form of BC.

It makes me sad to see all of these young girls losing their virginity so early. Some of them are younger than my little sister and that scares me!

It is sad, and I doubt many of them even enjoy the sex they are having. All of that risk and they get nothing out of it. Why do they do it? Just to have a boyfriend?

Was it one day ago when you had unprotected sex for the first time or have you been having regular unprotected sex with him?

If it was only a day ago and you do not want to be pregnant then you should look into getting the morning after pill as it can be taken up to 72 hours after sex (some brands can be longer) or you can have an IUD fitted up to 5 days after unprotected sex as emergency contraception.

You would not be able to tell this early whether or not you are and will have to wait until the time of your period to test.

If you are not pregnant but wish to continue having sex (or there is a possibility it will happen again, although at 14 I would strongly consider looking into why you don't wish to wait to have sex) then you need to sort some birth control out

I did not know about the IUD as a back up/emergency contraception idea. That is EXCELLENT! Thanks for that info.

I WISH they gave them out like candy where I live, I practically had to BEG them to give me ONE. That was two years ago and I just don't think they liked me cause my friend got a bag full a week before I went.
