I HAVE A QUESTION. MY DAUGHTER IS BIPOLAR AND JUST FOUND OUT THAT SHE IS 3 WEEKS PREGNANT. SHE TAKES ABILIFY ONCE A DAY. WHAT ARE THE CHANCES THAT HER FETUS WILL BE AFFECTED BY THIS? SHE'S ONLY 3 WEEKS PREGNANT AND WILL BE OFF OF THE MEDS AS OF TODAY.

Bipolar people should not discontinue their medication without first being supervised. There are many medications that can be taken during pregnancy and the needs of the mother need to be weighed with the needs of the child.

Please don't say, "NO MEDICATION." if you clearly have no idea what this person is going through. She needs to see a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL to determine what she needs.

Extremely eHealthy
All medications precribed or not should be cross checked with a doctor for her body and her case.

p.s. please refrain from using all caps.

I was on abilify for 6 months and when I thought I was pregnant my doctor told me to stop my meds but had me go to counseling once a week so I can update him on my moods. Some anti-depressants are ok but not all are.
