Weight Gain?!?!?!

I'm 24 weeks and before I got pregnant I
weighed 113lbs. Now I weigh 136lbs. That's
a total weight gain of 23lbs. That seems
quit high for only being 6 months.
How much have you guys gained or did you
gain during you pregnancies?

53 lbs.
It depends on your weight before. If you
were thin for your height then your
suppose to gain more. My baby is 3 months
old now and I have lost all but 5 lbs of
the weight with pretty much no effort. I
gained all me weight in the first
trimester then slowed down after

I have gained 13 pounds so far but I had
some extra weight anyways. I think since
you were pretty skinny to begin with that
you will probably be okay.

I know what you mean. Even before I got
pregnant 113 was a bit much for me. I've
been at a steady 105 for years until about
6-8 months before becoming pregnant. So I
feel pretty fat right now. I can't wait
till she is born so I can start to run
this crap off. I'm gonna be a freakin
heffer when it's all said and done.
Before I got pregnant I wore size 3 jeans.
I went to target the other day and all I
wanted was a pair of jeans that weren't
maternity. In order to get a pair to just
go over my fat thighs and butt I had to go
up to a size 11. That's 8 sizes up. It
totally made me sick!

i was 110 pound for years and managed to
maintain that until i became pregnant.
Your a bit like me!! majority of my weight
is going to my bum and thighs. This has
always been my problem area and it does
concern me that i'm going to stay that
way!!
I'm just going to stick to the maternity
clothes until she's here and then
contemplate buying 'normal' clothes
again!!

rachel, how tall are you?
the good news is, most women lose an
average of 25 pounds right after birth
(baby, placenta, fluids).

I've gained 17 lb. at 32 weeks. But I
have been very active this pregnancy and
usually exercise 5-6 days a week. I
started off at 116 lb. I have not weighed
so much in years; it's a bit disheartening
to me (I have a history with eating
disorders from when I was in college), but
the doc assures me I'm doing well. I
think I am beginning to have some water
retention and swelling as well so
hopefully some of that gain is water
weight and not fat.

I hate to tell you Racel but 115 for 5'5
is skinny. I used to be around 113 at that
height and I looked like a little stick
girl with huge boobs. That was when I was
like 14 though. I really don't think you
have anything to worry about.

I know that I was skinny before I become
pregnant. And I like being skinny. I'm
just feeling uncomfortable and like I'm
gaining too much too fast. I don't want to
be 9 months preggers and weigh 160 or
more!!!!! I'm afraid that it
will be hard to lose. I've never had to
try and lose weight before, so I'm not
sure how I'll do. My whole life I've been
blessed with a high metabolisim (sp?).
I've never had to work out or watch what
I've ate. So this is all very new to me.

Well now you make me feel like a big fat
cow. I weigh 170 now and I'm only 6 months
preggers. Grant it-a lot of mine was
caused by health problems and recurrent
high doses of steroids but still be
thankful for being as small as you are. If
you've never had problems staying small
you probably won't run in to any problems
getting small again. It may take some work
but it will be well worth it. I think you
look fine now as it is, but that's just my
opinion.

i weighed myself this morning so now i can
answer the original question.
i'm 15w5d and i've gained 4 pounds. i only
want to gain 20 all together so i need to
slow down. i'm pretty sure i gained those
4 pounds in the last 2 weeks- i was
stressed from my wedding quickly
approaching, then we had lots of family
visiting and there was a lot of eating
going on.

That's what everyone has always told me.
They say just wait you won't be thin
forever! But NOT if I can help it!
