Sugar Gives Me the Fits Do I Have Diabetes? Posted: 10-20-07 16:34pm
When ever I eat anything with sugar, my
mouth burns, my muscles ache and I get
chest pains. To go along with that my
ankle and my wrist hurt all the time. Do I
have Diabetes?

That's impossible to say. You can always
go to any pharmacy and buy a $20 meter and
check yourself for diabetes. The meters
aren't terribly accurate, but your reading
after not eating after 10 hours should be
around 80-110 roughly. If it's higher
than 110 you probably want to retest the
next day, and probably get a check with a
nurse or a doctor on their more precise
meter. If your number is like 130+ you
definitely would have cause for concern.
Realize this is after NOT eating for a
long time. One hour after you eat, the
number can be 150 briefly, and that's not
a problem.
If you're not overweight, it's highly
unlikely you'd have the type 2 diabetes.
You might just have a food allergy.
