Hi everyone. I am currently taking Benicar HCT and would like to take 5-htp to help with anxiety. I have read both sides: dont take if you have hbp and 5-htp can help lower bp. Anyone take 5-htp with hbp or know anyone that does?

Do you find Benicar helpful? For how long you are taking it? What's your highest high blood pressure rates?

I have been taking it for about 2 weeks now and it has helped a little. When I went to the doctor for it my bp was about 155/106. The average I get now is about 148/100. I thought it would have gone down more by now. I am on the weakest dose which is 20/12.5 mg. I will give it a little longer and if I do not get better results I think I might try something else.
