I dont really like putting this on here
but oh well, I'm concerned about what it
could be...I just recently noticed a small
bump like thing on the opening of my
anus...it just looks like extra skin or
something basically, doesn't hurt or
anything..isn't rough, its just
like..theres a tiny bit of extra skin
there portruding kinda, same color as my
skin around it..so nothing weird really,
I've just never noticed it before and the
only reason I was concerned is because
about 5 months ago I was diagnosed with
hpv, i've been with one guy my entire
life( my current bf) and he's only been
with one girl before me. I've google
pictures of warts and things, but
honestly, it doesn't look like that and
from what I read the strands that do cause
the warts are pretty rare. Last time I
went to the gyno they said I had very mild
hpv, wasn't bad and that they'd do a 6
month check up with me...I'm set to go
back in November, but is there anything I
should be really concerned about? What
else could it be if it isn't that? any
ideas??? It isn't hideous or huge or
anything, its just...strange and i've
never noticed it before

Yeah it could be a wart from the hpv.
That's what they look like before they get
really bad, just skin colored bumps. It
will get harder and bigger if it is a
wart. You can get it treated by a derm. or
your gyno.
You do know you are still contagious if
you have warts or not, right?? HPV is a
lifetime illness...

I had something like that in exactly the
same place. It was there for a couple of
weeks and then went away. I still dont
know what it was, but if you are really
concerned you can see the doc and have it
looked at and tested.

You know that you can spread it to him
even if you don't have an outbreak, right?

It may be a wart or it may just be extra
skin. The anus needs to be flexible to
allow for the passage of stool and needs
to have extra skin around it for the
muscles to expand.
