the "friend" Guy Was Having a Colonic Posted: 05-27-04 18:11pm
It is pretty much exactly as it was on
that show! A physican does the
procedure, I would not recomend any one
other that a gastroenterologist do this to
you! I've heard about it, and have read
that it can be very benefical and
cleansing, and weight loss is certainly a
result. It is, however kind of like the
weigh you could loose is instantly, once,
if you have a lot of poop, of course
you're going to weigh less once it's gone!
I have heard people have colonics
several times per year, and i've
considered having one too! Just talk
with a doctor, and see what your options
are. Good luck! Let us know how it
goes!

Wow sounds interesting. I've heard of
this before but never got to talk to
anybody about it. I might do it if I
wasn't pregnant right now. I think I will
try it after the baby comes! I'll be
home for a long time!
About the bacteria though - some of them
are good. They live in your intestines
and aid in digestion. There are some
foods like beans that we wouldn't be able
to digest without those bacteria. I would
think that they'd replenish themselves
after just a couple of weeks though.

Ok, not the right topic to
be posting under but anyways... Is
colon/liver/kidney cleansing needed to
stay healthy? I was reading about it
awhile ago and besides being able to lose
weight from this, its supposed to keep you
healthy? And get rid of any parasites...
And I was at the drug store the other day
and saw a kit there, but I didn't buy it..
I thought I would wait and see what some
of you guys' opinions were first.. (also
im on bc, if I did this, would it
eliminate the pill within my body?)
This is an older post but I thought I
would share what has worked for me.
Several years ago I was suffering from a
long list of medical problems and I was
truly headed for disaster until a friend
of mine gave me my first colonix, colon
cleansing program. I was totally skeptical
even while on the cleanse until I was into
my second month. I saw some truly gross
stuff being eliminated from my body and my
body started to change for the better. At
that time I also saught the advice from a
naturopath doctor who helped teach me what
I could and couldn't eat due to food
allergies. Cleansing and diet truly helped
get my health back. I incorporate a
cleanse each year to ensure I am keeping
my body in tip top working order.
A cleanse is definately worth the effort,
money and time, especially a great
cleanse. For me colonix by drnatura is
really helping me. I thought it important
to share my success with others. I hope
you find your answers and what works for
you.

Don't do it!!!
A terrible way to lose weight. Yes you'll
lose some weight from the stuff that left
your body, but you won't look any
different and you'll gain it right back.
If you want to be healthy, why not focus
on putting healthy stuff into your body
instead of taking everything out?
It's the same as taking a bunch of
laxatives. Just not a good idea. No one
ever thinks you have to throw up once a
year to be healthy- this is no different.
As long as you are having bowel movements
your body is cleaning itself out
regularly.

If someone is eating the right foods and
is having regular bowel movements I have
to agree with you. However, today our food
is so full of chemicals and parasites,
pumped up meats with steroids and
vegetables sprayed with chemicals and
colours that a cleanse is something
everyone should consider. We do not live
in a total organic world where nothing is
touched with something chemical, toxic or
parasitic. Colon cleansing is not new and
has been done for centuries especially in
Europe. Why is it that we are so fast at
bringing are pets to be dewormed or
"cleansed" and don't consider ourselves as
important. Cleansing may not be for
everyone granted - however, it is
something that I incorporate each year to
ensure all systems are in tip top shape
and that there is no opportunity for
toxins or parasites to cause havoc in my
body ever again. I experienced a long list
of medical problems and know what
parasites and toxins can do to the body.

To my knowledge, we don't clean our pets
with an enema. We clean them with
medicine.

When we get our pets dewormed that is
treating them with medicine (through their
mouth) to kill the parasites.
Humans don't get parasites from eating bad
food, we get it from eating food infected
with parasites.
Furthermore, colon cleansing will not
remove parasites. If you have worms,
(which people can get) colon cleansing
will not cure you.
Colon cleansing will not make you more
healthy if you eat bad food. Eating better
food is the only thing that will make you
more healthy.

From the mayo clinic website, written by a
gastroenterologist:
Proponents believe colon cleansing
provides health benefits — by removing
toxins from their bodies, and boosting
their energy and their immune systems. But
doctors take a different view.
Although doctors may recommend colon
cleansing in preparation for a medical
examination of the colon, most don't
recommend colon cleansing for better
health or to prevent disease. This is
because:
* It's unnecessary. Your colon doesn't
require enemas or special diets or pills
to eliminate waste material and bacteria.
It does this naturally on its own.
* It may be harmful. Your colon
absorbs water and sodium to maintain your
body's fluid and electrolyte balance. Some
colon-cleansing programs disrupt this
balance, causing dehydration and salt
depletion. Long-term or excessive
cleansing programs can lead to problems
such as anemia, malnutrition and heart
failure.
