Health Insurance Is Very Important. Posted: 09-08-03 00:45am
Hi, if I had no health insurance I would
be paying 55,000 dollars in medical costs
right now. I was in the hospital for one
week and three hours in the er and my bill
was 55,000 for a problem of blood clots in
my lower legs. I still ended up paying
5,000 out of my pocket.
I agree health insurance is very
inportant. But whe do you get health
insurance in the state of new jersey
when you can't afford it but make more
than is allowed for 2 people.
My husband has had triple by pass---gall
bladder operation--- an aortic anurizim
and still has heart problem.
Cannot find affordable health insurance we
desperatly need. Any suggestions

Have you tried for medi-cal? That is the
free insurance. Check your phone book for
a welfare office and they help alot.

In new jersey they have what is I believe
called medicaid. That is insurance for
the working poor, meaning that if you are
low income the state provides for you. If
you don't qualify for that, then call your
state insurance commissioner and ask for
the insurances that cover high risk
patients. There are always a
few....Kaiser is one in california that I
know of. Hope this helps.

You could always try to get onto a group
health plan through one of your employers
if possible.
Hipaa is an option...Though very expensive
and the coverage isn't the best i've seen,
but if you don't have anything it is worth
looking into.
Best of luck!

I work in the medical field and deal with
many different health insurance companies.
There are a few medical insurances out
there for people who are low income. You
pay nothing. Look in your local
telephone book, there should be some type
of listing for medical assistance.
