Due For Gallbladder Op - Diabetes Posted: 04-02-04 19:40pm
I've recently been put on the waiting for
my whole gall bladder to be removed. To
say that im worried is an understatement.
Im absolutely petrfied of hospitals so not
looking forward to the prospect of having
to stay in.
Is there anyone else that has suffered
from diabetes as a result of losing their
gallbladder?
This is something a friend of mine has now
got. My dad also, just developed,
diabetes 5 years ago which makes me high
risk.
I'm just wondering if this is a common
problem

there is no relationship I am aware of
between gallbladder problems and diabetes.
Having your gallbladder out in no way
makes you more likely to develope
diabetes. I assume you're talking about
type ii diabetes. It is related mostly
to obesity, high fat and carbohydrate
diet, and in-activity.
