Fibrous DysplasiaTemporal Bone - Growth b/c of Metabolism ? Posted: 10-25-07 14:08pm
I'm looking for someone that has fibrous
dysplasia of the temporal bone. Is the
bone growth caused by metabolism? I have
had two seperate operations. One on the
ear portion and the other on my jaw.
Severe TMJ pain and ear pain. Any input
will help!

Hi Sandy,
Unfortunately I know nothing about fibrous
dysplasia, but I was wondering if you've
seen a bone specialist or someone of the
sort? You might also want to see if you
can get to a teaching university who has
either a medical or dental school. They
might be interested in your case.

Thanks for both of your replies.
I had the ear portion of the bone operated
on at Brigham and Womens Hosp. in Boston,
Ma and the jaw portion operation at Mass
General. I'm just curiuos if there is
something to help stop bone tumors from
growing. My doctors say unless the bone
stops growing I'll have to have the same
operations over and over. It's so rare to
have fibrous dysplasia of the temporal
bone that I can't find much info about it.
I see my ear doctor next Tuesday and I'm
going to get some info about what kind of
doctor I should be seeing.
Dyanmatteson, I am interested in knowing
what herbal remedy your mentioning.
