Rice Cereal

i don't know if anyone answered the question about why formula babies sleep longer - it's because formula takes longer to digest and breastmilk is easier to digest so it goes through them quicker.

i've heard rice cereal is a nono until they are at least 5 months. i heard that from the public health nurses and breastfeeding consultants (who are nurses also i guess). some docs say it's okay and some say no. my mother in law says it's okay. lol. it's just one of those controversial issues that everyone will always argue about. i wouldn't do it myself because i don't want to lose my milk. eadie wakes up every two or three hours sometimes and other times she will sleep for 5 or 6 hours at night. it's still hit and miss for her and at 3 months i'm not rushing her. if she wants to keep me up all night at this point i'm alright with that BUT that's only because i'm not working. if i had to do this AND work in the day i think i'd lose my mind.

you just can't judge if you don't know what they're dealing with. luckily we all get to make these decisions for ourselves so what someone else does with their baby isn't going to hurt our own.
