Ear Pain
Posted: 04-03-04 06:40am

Hello,

i'm new here and I have a question. I have had horrible pain in my left ear, down my neck under my left ear, and pain in the back teeth on the left side. I have throbbing pain in my left temple and headaches. In addition to the pain I have noticed large, pus-filled lumps behind both ears. These lumps drain periodically and the smell is strong and pretty bad (ammonia like); however, the lumps themselves do not hurt. Has anyone ever experienced this? Does anyone have any idea as to what may be going on?

I am just guessing, maybe some sort of infection. Get yourself to an ent doctor as soon as possible to see what is going on. Wink

Ear Pain Update
Posted: 04-21-04 20:55pm

I went to see an ent who gave me decadron injection, methyprednisolone dose pack, and tequin antibiotic. The welling has gone down a little, but there is still some swelling that remains and I still have constant pain. I am also having night sweats and extreme fatigue and the lumps behind my ears are exactly the same. I now have a hard lump on the left side of the upper palate in my mouth which is painful. I started on bactrim (4 days no improvement), the cipro and ciprodex drops (3 days no improvement) no my current meds. I just do not know what to do. I plan to call my ent today to see what can else can be done - no real diagnosis given, just meds.
