Hi..i'm a mother to a 14 month old little
boy. And well i had protected sex 2 months
ago several times and i now i feel just
like i did when i first got pregnant with
my son? I have taken a home test last
month and it came up negative? But when i
was pregnant with my son, i was 4 months
pregnant before the home test finally
turned positive... Since the birth of my
son i have not been able to take any form
of birth control due to migraines(can
cause me to have a stroke)..but my period
was normal up until August..now i have
been lightly spotting a day or two the
past 2 months? Could i be pregnant
Again????

it is definitely possible to become
pregnant using a condom
since no birth control is 100%
effective..
when is/was your period due?

break?

well even if the condom doesn't break
there's still a possibility of
conception...
ETA: a small possibility...but the chance
is still there

If I were you I would got to the doctor
and get a blood test done since the urine
ones don't give you accurate results.

Urine tests are extremely accurate;
otherwise they wouldn't be on the shelves
*sighs*
Yes, you could still be pregnant. If there
is some way to get an ultrasound or other
test done, I'd do it. A blood test may
help, but be sure to tell them that last
time urine tests weren't accurate until 4
months in. That way they can use the most
accurate blood test available.
The usual blood test used is actually LESS
accurate than the average urine test. Why?
Because by the time the woman gets a
positive urine test and goes in for the
blood test, there is enough hCG in her
system for an insensitive test to detect.

Is there really that big of a difference
between urine and blood tests? I keep
hearing that urine tests having false
results and aren't accurate but I can't
find that anywhere when I look it up! A
girl i was talking to thought I was crazy
when I said that urine tests were just as
good as blood tests.
I just think if you follow the directions
on the back of the box then you'll get the
right results. Why do people keep thinking
otherwise?

Do false neg happen often and is there
really a reason for it?
If you follow everything correctly and you
wait until after your missed period then
why would you get a false reading?

All right thanks. Finding stuff on it is
easier when you know what you're looking
for, I just assume when they said that
they meant it was taken too early.

I'll guide you to a really informative
website
http://www.peeonastick.com/
After re-reading, I realise I've been
misleading a little bit: It depends on
which blood test you get. I still swear I
read somewhere on that site that doctor's
tests are less sensitive but I could be
wrong. It did say that the doctor's urine
tests can be less sensitive.
This site also debunks the myth of a
"false positive". If you've read the test
right and it says "yes", then you ARE
pregnant, period. Of course if you then go
get a blood test and its negative, that
means you had a very early miscarriage.

There is a lot more veriables involved
with urine tests. Such as how long you
hold the urine, what you have had to eat
or drink that day, and expiration dates.
It is also up to the individual to READ
the results. Which is a whole different
subject.
