Sprinter Returning after meniscus tear of the right knee Posted: 10-29-07 03:07am
Hello,
Well last year I was at top of my game,
working on heading towards the Nationals
Sprints, trainer even thought I could be
olympic pontential...then injury got it's
ugly head in there.
I was diagnosed with a meniscus tear of
the right knee. Now that has actually
healed quickly after the surgery but have
also badly sprained the left knee.
What I need right now is a good program to
help me get back into sprinting. I believe
the left knee will hold, but I will wear
protective bandages just in case.
I am currently 180lbs...and am not happy
with it at all. Last year I was 150lbs,
which is a reasonable weight for a
sprinter.
So yeah, I pretty much require a low
impact exercise that will help my running.
Next year's school try outs are in
Feb/March, so that's my aim.
Anyone have any experience with this
before? What do I do?

Yoga once daily will help lengthen and
strengthen your entire body. Plus, it
will help with increasing your lung
capacity which is great for sprinting, I
imagine. Plus, it's great on the joints.
Have you ever tried hatha yoga?

There's a great site that offers free
daily yoga called Yoga Today. I love it!
Try it out and let me know what you think.
