You need to get some kind of help from
somewhere. As I have said before,
medications can only do so much and the
rest is up to you. Cutting is an acting
out of anger, depression or even a want of
self infliction for any reason. You have
to figure out what is the trigger that is
causing you to cut. What are you depressed
over and try and rearrange it. You have
not cut for so long, you know you can
stop. Now it is time to stop before it
gets out of hand again. I do agree that an
anti-depressent will probably take the
edge off. But, it is going to take you to
take the horse by the ranes and get a grip
on this thing.
By posting here you are going to get the
compassion and help you need to make it
though this. That is what we are all here
for.
I myself never cut. In my day it was just
take enough pills to make you sick and
then call for help.
I really hope you can find a doctor that
can manage you problems. But, there has to
be something that has recently gotton you
depressed enough to start cutting again.
Let's get going and find out what that is
OK.
Try and wheen down off that zopiclone if
you can. If not you might need to go into
a rehab to help you out with that.
Just remember, you are in the right place
and we all are here for you.
Living in a different country may be the
reason here. You feel lost and out of
place. Do you think that could have a
bearing on you depression? How long have
you lived there? Are you not happy in your
surroundings?
Can anyone else add thier thoughts to this
one please.

Hi,
I’m in a similar situation. I have
always been depressed and did quite a bit
of self-injury throughout my teen years.
Things improved and I eventually grew out
of this habit.
I am now 28 and while I have had some slip
ups here and there, it’s only now that I
feel that my depression and my cutting is
getting out of control. My episodes
usually happen at work. I become so
emotionally agitated, that it’s the only
way to calm myself down. I fear I would
do something much worse if I didn’t cut
myself.
This week I have appt. with my doctor to
get back on medication, and hopefully
I’ll be able to find time to see my old
therapist.
There are alternatives to SI you can try
to help you work through those rough
moments. Things like holding onto ice,
cutting into a plastic bottle, tearing up
cloth. That sort of thing.
