Kinda Sucks...

I went to hospital today & saw an ear, nose & throat specialist. He said I needed a tonsillectomy, so now both me & Jenny are on the waiting lists for operations.

I'm not really worried about mine, I just can't be bothered dealing with all the pain afterwards.. the doctor said it would be painful for up to two weeks. Kids deal with tonsillectomies better than adults apparently, so I just wish I'd had them out years ago.

I'm still fretting over Jen's surgery, of course.. I don't want my baby in pain Sad I know they'll give her pain-killers & she'll sleep a lot at first.. but I'm dreading her banging her sore hand on something & screaming.. she bashes EVERYTHING at the moment. I wish she could keep her thumb.. but I know this will be the best decision in the long run.

I'm pretty sick of doctors & hospitals.

Oh no, I just realised how bad that sounds to anyone who doesn't know... Jenny was born with two thumbs on her right hand, so she's having the extra one removed.

Oh, wow. Yeah, I was wondering what could have happened to make her have to lose her thumb!

Ugh...I feel for you. I had my tonsils out last September and it was horrible. I was on pain meds for two weeks and could barely stand to eat. I also had my nasal turbinates reduced but that didn't bother me much.
It might not have been too bad but I ended up getting a postop infection of bronchitis so I didn't get better for like a month or a little over. I will keep you in my prayers. Let us know when it's going to be so I can say a special one for you.

I was suppose to have my tonsels taken out 3 years ago but I chickened out and said no. But I wish i did because I get tonsillitus (sp?) alot.

Jenny will do fine. She will be sore for about 2 weeks, but she didnt have bones in hers like Jenny does. When Amelia had her extra toe and finger taken off she would cry everytime something touched it. Just keep it bandaged good. They told me not to but I did anyways and it healed just as good. I pray that she does good!!

Aw man I'm sorry you have to have your tonsils out. Neil had it done about a year and a half ago and I won't lie he was in alot of pain. Make sure they give you lots of pain meds and stock up on soft and liquid foods.

I hope Jenny's surgery goes okay when the time comes, and yours too. I had my tonsils taken out but I was really little so I barely remember. I remember being made to drink gross stuff when I woke up and I remember them putting me to sleep with something and saying "the sand man is coming for you". Those creeps!
