How to Build Exercise Stamina after Asthma Attack ? Posted: 10-30-07 08:53am
Two days ago (Sunday) I had an asthma
attack. Normally, the day after I feel as
though I had a bad chest cold and very
tired. Monday, the day after was also my
first day of kick boxing class - "Yikes"
was my first thought, but I have really
wanted to set a goal for myself and do
this. So, I went regardless of how I was
feeling. The class was one hour long. I
had to sit out a total of 10 minutes
during this class. I felt so weak and
stupid! But, I just couldn't catch my
breath (as usual during any physical
exercise). So, I went to the locker room
and did my inhaler, big mistake, my heart
was already pumping pretty hard and the
inhaler made things worse - I felt like I
was going to pass out and throw up. But,
I sat out for about three minutes and went
back and finsihed the class. The rest of
the day, I was absolutely exhausted and
had troubles getting deep breaths and
couldn't even get a complete yawn. Today
is Tuesday and I feel the same way.
Tomorrow is another kickboxing day and the
instructor told us it would be a normal
class that monday was laid back - . Does anyone have
any suggestions to work through this. I
really want to build my stamina and become
strong w/my breathing. For once I would
like to complete a full class without
having to sit out.

The nature of stamina or endurance
training depends upon the sport that has
been chosen and it takes time and plan how
to build it.
Before you even start to have regular
exercises, you should be on proper
medications first.
Are you practicing aerobic exercise( it
improves airway function and has many
other benefits )?
What kind of medicine you are taking?
Have you talked with your doctor about
your problems while exercising?
You can ask your doctor for steroid
inhaler or a cromoglycate inhaler, that
can be beneficial for exercise induced
asthma.

Hey there,
Please be careful with using the inhaler
thru the game, you need to see an asthma
specialist.. some countrys have these
wonderful doctors that help the everyone
poor, elderly, they have the knowledge and
can do a total evaluation on your lungs,
usually its threw the town univirsity or
medical school Here in canda well we have
to wait 3 months here.. democracy!
Kick boxing while ill is not a smart thing
to do, sorry i am just going to say it.
you don't have all your senses working and
that puts you are a greater disadvantage
of being hurt.. You know once you hurt
your sleve its forever, so be carefull
and see a doctor go over your plan, keep
peak flow and check out VCD VocalCord
Dysfunction Try to calmly breathe in a
quiet place and learn to chill
God Bless ww
