Totally Off Subject Question.

This has absolutely nothing to do with pregnancy, babies or kids. But I have a 10 year old cat. She pees in the laundry room in front of the dryer. Luckily, it's linoleum in there so it's easy to clean up. Has anyone else had a problem with their cat doing this? I clean it up and spray a pet odor eliminator over the floor, but I guess it's not enough to cover up the scent. My husband is threatening to get rid of her (in a not so nice way) if she doesn't stop. Any suggestions? She has already been spayed.

She is pissed about someting. Have you changed anything recently with your home? or "her" areas? For example.. Where she sleeps.. where her food is.. even laundry soap or fabric softner? I would look around at her usual areas to see if anything is different. She might be trying to tell you something is not right, or the way it used to be. Good luck!

The only thing that has changed, is that we have a 10 week old baby now. But she was doing this before the baby came. She had been doing in on and off for awhile, then she just stopped. The last 6 months she has been doing it again.

If you go to Petsmart, they might have something there that prevents cats from peeing in certain areas. It's not an odor eliminator... I want to say it's a hormone or something? You might want to look into it.

Her age may have something to do with it.

Does she have a litter box or is she an indoor/outdoor cat? Maybe she needs a small litter box near the laundry.

It rains a lot here. We don't keep a little box in the house, but I do keep one in the garage so when our kitty doesn't want to get his paws wet, he will still have somewhere that I've sanctioned as a place for him to 'go'.

He has gotten angry at my husband and gone on the dirty clothes before!

She is strictly an indoor cat and her litter box is in the laundry room, less than 3 feet from where she goes in the floor. I clean out a couple of times a week. She used to do this when she was younger, so we got her spayed. It stopped for a long time and just within the past couple of years she has started doing it on and off again.

Amonia is supposed to work to keep the cats from wetting in the area. So are mothballs, according to my neighbor who had a problem with cats going in his flower beds.

my cat suddenly started taking dumps where-ever. It's only when he's mad. Like the other day I put him down from holding him, and he got really mad. I saw him squinting like he was really trying to push, and pooped right in front of my eyes. I think he senses that there is a baby on the way and is feeling a little left out.

He also sits on the clothes that we've bought so far for the baby and refuses to move. It's so cute.
