Air in Vagina Causing Pain during Sex Posted: 10-31-07 06:08am
Hi, My wife and i have been married for 11
years and we enjoy each others company and
have a healthy sex life. Although there is
one issue we can't find a solution for.
Most times during sex my wife gets air
trapped inside her and causes her
considerable pain. We usually have to stop
while she tries to clear the air but can't
get rid of it all and she just puts up
with the discomfort.
I know air often does find it's way in
during sex but will usually go back out,
this seems to go in and stay there until a
bit after were finished. It's getting to
the point where my wife is avoiding sex
because she doesn't want to put up with
the pain.
Longer foreplay makes a little differance
but not much.
If anyone else has a similar problem or
can offer us some advise were all ears!
Cheers,

hi,
i get this sometimes too and it is very
uncomfortable, i find that most of the
time it is caused from the position,
anything from behind causes it for me. try
switching positions to plain boring ones
it may help.

Sometimes I find that if I tilt myself to
more "open" positions that this makes this
problem worse. Arching my back and
tilting my pelvis higher make it a lot
easier for this to happen for me, so
suggest her lying flat on her back or
maybe placing a pillow under her butt
instead if she wishes.
Like cindy suggested, positions like
missionary help to cut down on this
usually.
Also try more shallow thrusting while
having sex. Pulling out a lot and then
going back in makes it much easier for air
to get in. Deeper, shallower thrusts
really help prevent air from getting in.
It may not be as good for you that way,
but it may actually allow you to perform
longer and it prevents her from dealing
with really uncomfortable sensations.
Good luck, and good for you for coming to
this forum and being able to talk about
you and your wife's concerns!

Use store bought lube, and use lots. It
can take up the extra space so the air
can't get in.... that's my advice. Plus
don't pull all the way out.
