Q: Looking For Advice...

This may sound cliche but i'd really appreciate some advice. I am seventeen, will be eighteen at the beginning of 2008, i am the eldest of my siblings and have always been the sensible one. I am the daughter who recieves good grades doesn't drink and / or party, is polite and all round well mannered. I am currently in my second year of college.

My boyfriend and i have always practiced safe sex, yet we feared the condom may have broken, i am unable to take the pill as my body reacts badly to it and i was unable to keep the morning after pill down. I'm worried i may be pregnant as i am a few days late for my period and i am usually regular as clockwork.

I have spoken to my mother and she say's if i am pregnant she'll be dissapointed and heartbroken for me, as a child will stop my life and take over, but she will support my through my decision.

I am hoping that this will be taken seriously and someone will give me some helpful advice on what i should do... i am planning on taking an early home pregnancy test within the next few days to determine whether or not i am pregnant. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and please note that any feed back will really be appreciated, i'm going out of my mind with worry.

first you need to take a test to find out whether you ARE pregnant or not. Then you have 3 options. Abortion, Keep the baby or Adoption. Each option has it's pros and cons.

As you live in the UK, you may be entitled to help with childcare if you work or study. PM me if you want to talk.

What the heck is wrong with people these days..........seriously get a life!!!

Whisperedwords.....the only thing you can do is take a test. But i wouldn't stress too much because there are many women who do experience late cycles. So good luck and let us know how everything turns out.

Ok. Udontneed2know should shut up. If you have issues, go to a different forum. Whisperedwords is asking for peoples opinion, not for some fool to make crazy comments.

Whisperedwords, first, before you start stressing, you should find out first if you are pregnant. However, if the results turn out positive, talk to your boyfriend. See what his opinion is. I myself and anit-abortion, but that's not for this discussion. Yes having a child will change your life, but if you're mom says she's there to support your decision, then really think about it. My cousin had a baby at 16, managed to graduate high school still with high marks, went to college to become a travel agent, and is now happily married with three girls and a great job. It is possible to do it. If you have the support behind you. Yeah your mom might be disappointed, but look at it this way, you did everything in your life almost perfectly. Having a baby can be a miracle. I believe (and once again, not really a discussion for this forum) that God does things for a purpose. Maybe he belives that you should have a child at this point in your life.

Good luck with your test. I hope things work out the way you want them to.
