So, when would YOU experience your ninth
month? On your due date?
Or, would YOU say "I'm 8 months" until you
hit your due date? Being that you haven't
actually COMPLETED the 9th
month?
on your due date you're 9 months. leading
up to that you're 8, but *in* your 9th. so
2 weeks before your due date you're 8 1/2
months.

SO, I had Oni at 37 weeks. Would you say
that I was 8 months pregnant when I had
Oni?
Because I would say that I was 9 months.
i would say you were almost 8 1/2 months
when you had her.
i don't really know how else to explain
it. just go look at a calendar and count
from your last period (40 weeks is
actually 9 months 1 week).

ya see, that's where everyone is getting
so confused, I think.
It seems that they way you count, you're
jipping yourself an entire month.
The month that leads to my due date, or
the 4 weeks that make up my last month, I
would consider (and tell people) my 9th
month.
And if I went ANY over my due date, I
would be in the 10 month. Which would be
41&42 weeks.

i'm not jipping myself, you're jumping the
gun and leaping ahead a month. there are
only 9 months, so if you told me you're 9
months i'd think you were due any day.

YES! if you go over your due date, you're
*in* your 10th month (but you would say
you're 9 months).
go back and look at the chart from the
beginning. weeks 1-4 make up the first
month, that means when you're 2 weeks
along you're *in* your 1st month but you
wouldn't say you're 1 month, would you?
because you won't be 1 month until you
complete weeks 1-4. (same with a newborn,
you wouldn't tell people your 1 week old
baby is a month old, they won't be a month
until they complete week 4.)
when you're 5 weeks you're a little over a
month, but you wouldn't say 2 months until
you complete that group of weeks (whatever
it was, 5-9?).
i think the reason this is one of my
biggest peeves is because it's so clear to
me, but so confusing to so many other
people. it really is as simple as looking
at a calendar.
love the new avatar, by the way!

Thanks girl! I'm glad it came out good and
not all distorted!!!
If I was 5 weeks, I WOULD say "I'm in my
second month".
I just think that telling people I'm 8
months(when I get there) when I'm
OBVIOUSLY due any day now, would be
confusing. They'd think I'd be carrying
twins! LOL!!
And finally on Jan 29th she will be
officially 9 MONTHS and ready to have her
baby.
I too can feel your frustration because I
really find it to be a simple method...lol

AWWWWWWWWW...I Understand what you're
saying now! You are right. Basicly what I
tell people when they ask is that I'm *in*
my ____ month until I complete that month
then I go to the next month and say I'm
*in* my ____ month.
Explaining it by a child's age made sense
to what you were trying to explain
earlier.

I too understood what she was saying. I
just didn't understand why she felt it was
wrong for me to tell people I was 7
months.
I am in my 7th month, even though I
haven't completed it. SO I tell people I'm
7 months. And when I *enter* into my 8th
month, I'll tell people I'm 8 months.

because you're 6 months.
you're in your 29th week now, do you tell
people you're 29 weeks now or will you
wait until you complete it?
ok, i'll stop now. i know if i keep going
you're going to want to pull my hair or
something!
