Dealt With Recent Death/ Are My Symptoms Anxiety Related?
Posted: 11-02-07 15:27pm

I was away 2 weeks ago due to the death of my father-in-law. Two days later my dog had to be put to sleep. That night I started getting hunger like pains... These eventually go away. I did have a minor flu but now these are the major problems.

I have not been able to sleep at night as I keep feeling as if I am going to die. This keeps me up till 2 or 3 am sometimes. I have a sore throat, ear ache and headaches... I am not prone to them but I have them all the time as well as back and neck pain always now. My eyes hurt and at work I am constantly tapping my feet etc. and it is very hard for me to focus on anything but the matter at hand (my possible illness.) all the test results are turning out negative for anything. I do have peridontal disease (advanced gingivitis) but I plan on getting that fixed very soon. Is it possible the headaches, ear, neck, back, irritability and panic attacks at night are due to stress? Anyone else ever have similar symptoms?

You gums can affect your ears and throat. The bacteria spreads as they are all connected ei...Ears, nose and throat. Also known as ENT.
I can feel you pain and you are deffenatly greeving loss. Greeving effects people in many different ways. Anxiety is one of them. Depression is another. We all have to cope this it at one time or another. I don't know how close you were to your father-in-law, but that in itself is a trumendous loss for you. You have to grab hold of yourself and stay strong. The greeving process can take a short or long time to get over as it is a very individual thing. The loss of you dog (a family member) is a very hard thing to grasp and get over.
My advice to you would be, let all of this take it's course, then if you still feel out of control, get some help to get you throught it.

Can anyone else add some help here?

Another thing that has been bothering me are headaches. They are always dull and achy, but the one that hurts the most is the one in the back of my head. Are these anxiety related? is it possible? I had CT and MRI done last yr and everything turned out ok. Should I have them reviewed etc?

I personally don't think you need to redo the MRIs unless you doctor has a reason to do them again. Yes, headaches go with stress and anxiety. Your whole body is effected in some way or another. Now, if the headaches persist with being in a normal state of mind and functioning well, I would ask about your eyes. Do you wear glasses. Might be time for a change in RX. Try to undestand, you have been through alot and many changes in your life. Surroundings etc. That along will take a toll on you health.
Unless your doc wants to re-do them, I would have to say no if they are recent enough.
