How can I help Grandpa stop smoking? exercises? Posted: 11-02-07 21:52pm
Hello... I am here for my grandpa... He is
62 years old and has smoked his whole
life... I yell at him every time i see him
smoke and he has gotten better but, it can
be alot better...and he knows he needs to
quit, it's just hard for him... He has
tried everything... He has (sorry if i
spell these wrong) COPD Includes Emphysema
and Chronic Bronchitis, asthma, on oxygen
and just isn't in great health.... I want
my grandpa around for awhile.. I'm 17...
What can i do to help... I go to the gym
regulary, would this help his health, if
so what type of exercising could he do? I
just love my grandpa and I hate seeing him
in not great health... Please help!
Thank you
Molly

How is your grandfather now? It seems
like he'd need to start slow. Are you
willing to try breathing exercises with
him so that he can improve the elasticity
of his lungs?

He is sixty years old, he probably doesn't
feel good about that and has lived a long
hard life, give the man a smoke if he
wants one.

I guess it's really hard for someone to
quit smoking if they done it their whole
life. Tell him to cut down the cigarettes
each day.
Express your feelings to him. (tears will
help!) Tell him how much you want him to
be in good health and how hurt you are to
see him like this. He might really change.
