I Can't Get Rid of My Gardnerella!!! Posted: 11-03-07 01:52am
Has anyone else struggled with this
problem like I have?
It's been about four months now.
First it was Trichomoniosis, then it
turned into Gardnerella.
I feel like I've done everything.
They've put me on metrodinozle pills
TWICE, plus the vaginal insert version of
the medication.
I've also been told to use a vinegar
douche.
The gardnerella has made my discharge very
thick, and when I pee, it REAKS. I can't
even explain the smell. But I've been told
it's the discharge that comes out with my
pee.
ANY ADVICE??
PS- I already know about cranberry juice,
yogurt, how sperm affects it, sleeping
without undies, and scentless soaps...

Isn't gardnerella a bacterial infection,
not a yeast infection? That all sounds
like ways to treat/prevent yeast
infections...
but I don't know much about it so I could
be wrong. Either way, I'd get on my
doctor's butt about helping you- a
stronger dose of antibiotics would help, I
would think.

The pills they gave you should have
treated it. Thats weird because that
medication is very good in curing
bacterial infections. Maybe, if you can,
you should see another doctor. A second
opinion may help. Or ask about
antibiotics that they can inject. They
are way stronger that oral antibiotics but
it will wipe out any infections.
Hope this helps. Also you posted earlier
that you know how sperm affects it. But
whatever you do do not have sex.

I'd also ask about behavioral things you
might be doing that's causing it.

have you tried washing with hydrogen
peroxide solution?? I had the same
problem and it really helped with the
odor. I had BV for almost six monthes
this year, metrogel was awful to use and
the odor and discharge were back within
weeks! I used the peroxide wash and
probiotics and I think it really helped.
good luck let me know if this is
helpful...

OOohhh, I wouldn't ever use peroxide in my
vagina unless a doctor specifically said
to. I'm pretty sure that's not safe.
