I Need Serious Advice :-(

Both the dogs have snapped at/growled at/or BITTEN my kids. Bristol just now bit jacob. thankfully it didnt break the skin, but jacob yanked his hand away and said OUCH.

I have no idea what the hell to do.. Rob acts as if its nothing. *oh they were just playing*

NO.

Thats SO NOT PLAYING.

All jacob did was walk up to Bristols cage and tried to pet him. wasnt fast or aggressive about it at all.
The other day Sadie growled and snapped at Rob just becuz he was trying to get her our of the livingroom while we were eating. He reached down to grab her collar to guide her out and BAM she snapped.

I want the dogs gone.
Rob doesnt seem to see a problem.

Sad

i'd leave with the kids since obviously the damn dogs are more important but i have no money of my own to leave with.

well you need to decide what's more important...your kids safety or the dogs...and let rob know.

I wouldn't give him a choice, why wait until something bad happens. I agree, get rid of them.

the thing that irritates me is hes experienced it first-hand and still sees nothing wrong with it. He says *yeah i know their safety comes first* but he still keeps bringing up *Oh if they wanted to hurt me or him they would have.*

what do i do? Call the animal control? WOuldnt both ROb and I have to sign off on them or could just I do it? I am SOOO ready to make these dogs leave.

I've had dogs all my life... and if they wanted to hurt me they would have is BS..... they sound like they might be slightly aggressive..... but the dogs I have had all were really good around kids... never snapped or anything...its all the dog's personality.... if they are already doing this they will continue, unless you have them trained.... did you have the dog(s) before you all had children?

nope.

we got them from Robs parents.. they are their dogs but im to the point that i just dont give a rats ass anymore.

(we took them because we have a backyard thats fenced in and they dont.. we thought the dogs would be good with the kids but apparently not.)

maybe i could just give them back.

but then i cant take the kids over to their house. I wont.

the reason I asked is that dogs get jealous of new additions to the family just like kids do... while others are quite protective.... I would advise giving them back...It could be just the breed.... but your kids are more important than the dogs...

we posted our dog o a website where we got to choose the new parents but if it was a safety issue i would drop those pups at the animal shelter and say i found them so they dont charge you to leave them unless they are microchipped then there goes your alibi lol

some animals do not get used to children ever. I love my fathers older male dog to death but we all know he gets jealous of kids very easily and never take a chance. They need to leave your home if you feel they are posing a threat to your kids and I would not give a flying rats arse what anyone had to say, your children safety comes first.

I'd get rid of them. Dogs will snap and growl as a warning and then one day one of them may come all unglued on one of the kids and really maul them.
We had Koda and all he had to do was look at Jaylon wrong and he found his way out of here in a hurry.
Bridget had to get rid of Rudy because he was nasty to Finn, I couldn't imagine the damage that could have happened if Rudy was a bigger dog.
I love dogs, but they frighten me around kids.

OMG!

ROb just talked to his dad about it, and he said that the dog doesnt ever do anything unprovoked. That Jacob had to have done something to make him mad. He pointed out how earlier today when he was over helping Rob with the car, how he saw Jacob playing rough with Britol, and was like, * a dog can only take so much.*

THAT WAS HOURS AGO!

HOURS

This time all Jacob did was walk up to him and try to pet him.

im so sick of all this.

why did we come up here again?

defending a damn animal over his grandson.

I would have thrown them out at the first sign of aggression. It's not worth having my kid's scarred for life. period!

I would be so mad! If the dog bites one of the kids I think you can call the authorities and have the dog taken to the shelter

i would offer them back to his parents and if they said no i would take them right to a shelter.

rudy was gone within an hour after the incident with finn. it totally sucked having to give him up but there was no choice.
