Still Having Some Depression Symtoms? Posted: 11-04-07 21:26pm
After being on Zoloft 100mg for years and
being a complete and miserable drone on
it, I stopped the drug and started 1500mg
a day of St. Johns Wort. I suffer from
depression, anxiety and BAD panic attacks.
The St. John's Wort has helped a bit (I
have been on it for a month now), but I am
still having irritabililty/aggressive
behavior and panic attacks and some mild
depression symtoms. What else is out there
that I could possibly try?

i used to be prescribed to zoloft, xanex,
lexapro, wellbutrin, paxil and a few
others for like 3 years. suddenly i
stopped taking all pills and stopped
having caffinated things and just didn't
stress out so bad. i had the same thing,
bad anxiety, irritability and all that
other stuff you mentioned. i saw like 3
different psychiatrists and 2 different
therapists in a short time. and like you,
i didn't like talking to them either. but
when i stopped taking the pills, i had
these problems still for a little while
but a few months down the road, i was
perfectly fine. i get anxiety still like
sometimes days at a time, but its not as
bad as before. I figured out i had anxiety
way more and worse when i was on the
pills. I say do something to take your
mind off being stressed. maybe try working
out and getting out any stress there and
get your mind off things and stop taking
the meds. Although it wont be for a month
or two until you notice changes, but it
worked for me :/ sorry if i am no help.
i've been in your shoes and it's a tough
situation.

Time to See Your Doc Posted: 11-12-07 13:06pm
I would go back to your doctor and let him
know what you are feeling. There are a few
more longer lasting anti-depressants out
there that may help you. I would talk to
him/her about it. Sometimes it does take
awhile to get on the right combo. Took me
4 years! I also was on Zoloft and found it
worthless for me. Others it may help. Just
have to get what works for yourself and
your attacks.

I agree- go back to your prescribing
doctor and talk about it. If he's not
helping, find someone else.
Anti-depressants take a lot of trial and
error and fine tuning to get it right so
you feel great- and you need to find a
doctor who will go through that journey
with you.
