Urinary tract infections are not
genetically conditioned because they are
caused by infective agents that come from
outside the body. However, people with
anatomic anomalies on their urinary tract
are susceptible for developing chronic
urinary tract infections. Some anomalies
of the urinary tract can be genetically
conditioned.
Urinary tract infection can be prevented
with the following:
1. Complete healing of the acute
urinary tract infection;
2. Drinking more liquids especially
urinary antiseptic teas;
3. Better hygiene of the anal and
urinary-genital region;
4. Surgically treating any congenital
anomaly of the urinary tract.
