All Pain Meds Make Me Itch Until I Go Crazy! Posted: 11-06-07 00:30am


Hi. I'm sorry if this has already been covered. but I didn't see it. I'm having spinal fusion on November 16 and I've been taken off of Naproxon which is the only thing in 2 years that gives me any relief (about 3 hours a day). It thins the blood so for surgery I can't be on it. I'm back on 2 Oxycodone (Percocet) every 4 hours and I take 3 benedryl with it, and I still itch! It's very uncomfortable. The Benedrl dries my eyes out so that my vision isn't as good as it should be. My doctor found out from a dermatologist that Zofran works for the itching. It worked the first time, then it stopped. Does anyone out there have the itching problem? Anyone found out what to do about it??? Boy, you would be helping me so much for after the surgery! Thank you! BarbyS
