So we might have finally hit the right meds... years later... but im not even me lately I just sit here, staring into nothingness. I'm so completely drugged. but my doctor cant tell me anything better then " well its better then you killing yourself..." Im getting to the point where i dont want to take the meds anymore... not if it means taking away every part of my personality. I dont even communicate like i used to. Its so hard to explain. Am I happier...? I dont think about death 24/7 thats for sure... but happier i dont even know... does anyone else understand what im saying?

If your doctor says "well its better than you killing yourself", that is very unprofessional. A doctor should be caring and listen to what you have to say. There are many different medications that treat depression, and different medications can give different people different side effects. See if switching medications helps at all. If I were you, I would get a different doctor who takes into account what you say. Depression is hard to deal with, but losing your sense of self is just as hard. I hope you are able to work things out and find a better medication that meets your needs. Good luck!
