Premarital Sex - Same Sex Couples Posted: 11-07-07 20:12pm
i am 20 yrs old and i lost my virginity
when i was 18 to my current boyfriend. i
dont regret it but often wonder if it
would be better waiting. I remember
telling my mum the first time i had gay
sex. she accepted the fact but questioned
me whether or not i should have waited. my
mentality is, 'why wait?'. if you care
about someone enough, i dont think you can
put a time on sex. thats my 2 cents
opinions?
if you have any thoughts or personal
experience about this i would love to hear
about it.

Well, since homosexual couples can't
marry, I'm confused.

about what? there was nothing in that post
about marriage? it was about sex. I think
he meant wait in the sense that one should
feel completely ready about going forward
with sex

maybe i want to hear from those who come
from states or countries that accomodate
for legalised same-sex marriages...
if you do not have anything contructive to
add then just sit back and shut up!

Canada allows same sex couples to marry.
I think the choice to wait (or not) to
have sex for marriage is entirely
personal, and I wouldn't think sexual
orientation would change that.

Uhh, I think you're asking a very loaded
question, as a matter of fact. It touches
on one of the biggest criticisms of the
gay culture: that of sex, and lots of it.
I'm gay, and I personally think the
rampant sex that goes on within the gay
community is quite excessive. I understand
the argument that sex is a way of enjoying
your body (which is an argument that is
classically used), but it comes at a very
heavy price. The gay community has paid
dearly with STIs and abuse.
In any case, I think it's best to wait.
Not to wait 'til marriage, but to wait
'til you find someone who you seriously
like. It doesn't have to mean you've been
together for months or years, but enough
to show respect for yourself. I like the
mentality of "I'm good enough to wait
for". Sex in the gay community has become
so emotionless.

Excessive sex is bad for anyone, no matter
what their sexuality may be. I agree with
Marvel: Wait until you find someone you
want to be in a serious relationship with.
Sure, it's your choice to use sex as cash,
but I honestly don't look favorable on
ANYONE who is promiscuous, straight,
lesbian, bi, or gay.

No, I think you are, actually. You
basically said that homosexuals don't have
ethics applied to their sexual behavior
because they "can't" marry. You also
stated it in such a way that I'm inclined
to think you believe they should never be
able to marry.

I'm from Canada, but regardless of what
the term is, it's still a long term
commitment. I agree that it's highly
personal decision and I wouldn't suggest
against it or for it. However, regardless
of the sexuality of the couples, STI's are
becoming more and more the norm and that's
something to be careful about. I'm not
sure if same sex couples are more prone to
have them, but having lots of rampant sex
is probably not a good idea in any case. I
think waiting for someone you really care
about and love is probably the best way to
lose your virginity, just be safe about
it.

Same sex couples are only "prone" to STD's
because of the abuse of
sex.

as long as your both consenting adults
then do what you will...Go with my
blessings...and have fun. You only live
once, play safe and enjoy your youth, your
only young once. Just don't do anything
your going to regret. Be mature about it.
There is nothing wrong with sex.
